Hello friends,
My university has their own format for LOR. I assume that If I ask a professor for a LOR, he or she will mail the LOR to the AMCAS. Then, AMCAS will forward the LOR to various schools, right? I have a couple Q's:
1. Does anyone have url to info on how AMCAS handles the LOR?
2. Do they convert it to electronic format?

One more thing-
Is there anyway I can ask for a LOR and store it till I start AMCAS application process?

AMCAS isn't involved with LORs. LORs are part of secondaries with each school.

I strongly suggest that you look for info about Interfolio. Just about any other solution is going to require you to get your recommenders to send multiple letters to multiple schools with multiple failure points.

Does your university do a committee letter? Mine will accept and hold all of my LOR's and then disperse them to schools I'm applying at either as part of the committee letter or on their own if they are from outside the university.

Thanks for the responses. How do I ask the professor to send an LOR to the interfolio service? By email? Do they need an electronic copy or can they handle an envelope?

kateb4,
I don't think my school has a premed committee but I will check to make sure.
