Who should I ask to write a letter of recommendation for me? I already have two from physics and immunology profs. I will apply to columbia so I need one more LOR from sci prof. My options are

1) Micro bio professor; I got an A from his class but that's it. I was one student among 500 people and have no personal contact with him.

2) Plant bio professor; I got an A from him. It was a small class (24 people) also it was lecture + lab course so he knows me very well. I am confident he would write me a very favorable LOR. But certain schools (for example Detroit Mercy) don't accept LOR from plant biology.

What do you guys think?
Thanks!

Contact Detroit Mercy and explain to them about your situation. They will be in the best position to tell you what other options to look for.
