I'm planning on applying broadly. I know some schools have requirements on having LORs from science profs and nonscience profs. If I just get 2 from science profs I took a class with and one from a nonscience prof, will I be set? Or are there any schools that require more than this? I thought I saw one that required 3 from science profs a while ago but I'm searching around again and can't find it...

Also, I plan on applying in the 2011 cycle... If I end up in a situation where I could get a positive LOR from a professor I had for this quarter, should I ask for the LOR once the quarter is over? Or should I wait until closer to when I apply? I've seen mixed answers about this, but it seems like I would be most fresh in his mind if I ask him sooner...

Thanks

Definitely do not wait to ask. What would be the point in waiting? Most professors get a rush of requests at the last minute and I've read on SDN about a lot of people who had their app delayed because of slow profs.

I set up an interfolio account and have made most of my requests already. Interfolio is cool because it will save your letters beyond this cycle (in case for whatever reason you need to re-apply) and because not every school participates in the AMCAS LOR service.
