Hi everyone,

Would it be ok to ask a professor for an LOR before completing the class with them even if you are getting a very good grade and the only evaluation left for the class is the final exam?

The reason being is because my final exam for the class is in late April and final marks probably won't be posted until the beginning of May. I'm not sure if a month is enough time to notify a professor for an LOR and then have them write it, considering they are all very busy.

Even if you plan on applying early (June/July), the 1st batch doesn't go out until end of June so you would still have 2+ months if you asked at the end of April/beginning of May. You can probably casually bring it up but they probably won't start writing it anyway until the final exam is over and they can evaluate your overall performance.
