How do you know if a letter of recommendation has been uploaded for you by your residency coordinator at your school?

Members don't see this ad.

you dont, as far as i can tell. and the lady at my school whose job it is to upload them says she cant tell me- she's too busy. which no doubt she is, but still.

I was told that the letters aren't uploaded until you verify and submit your ERAS application.

you wont' see letters until you've ASSIGNED and APPLIED to programs. That's according to the ADTS page. So at least after 9/1 and after you applied.

Ras Swirl,

you know that's just because our school sucks and if they spent 1/1,000,000th of the money they rake in toward getting a real staff to support us during the years we're not even in house the school might actually place their students somewhere real instead of all these crappy osteopathic internship programs...

There is absolutely no excuse for anything less than 100% support during this process this is our careers and the schools reputation on the line...

complete BS she doesn't respond to us... I'm pissed off..

under the Track application tab, select a program which you've assigned the letters and it will tell you if they've been uploaded to the post office or not.

and assign them to a program.

Why is a Document, like a letter of recommendation or personal statement, not listed when it should be?

Files, such as a personal statement or letter of recommendation will not be listed if you have never assigned it to a program that you have applied to and paid for. To check this, please log into MyERAS, go to the Documents page and click on the "Show Assignments" link after the document name.

Your designated Dean's office can not upload a letter of recommendation until you have assigned it to at least one program that you have already applied to. Therefore, letters may take a few days to be sent to the Post Office for the first time.

This thread is super old but since its the same question I have I thought I'd revive it in case ERAS changed since 2006... Prior to actually certifying/ submitting/ etc is there any way to see if a LoR has been uploaded yet? All I can see is that I have designated a LoR writer on MyERAS. Do I have to e-mail my school and find out if they received it?

bump! no one can answer this?

I believe the question is answered. Your Dean's office can't upload letters until you apply to a program and assign the letter. Once that happens, you'll be able to track your letters.

Well this thread is 4 years old so I figured maybe there would be some changes on ERAS.

Yes, now that I actually read your initial post, I see that was your intent. I shouldn't have posted at all, since all I see is what happens on my end. My apologies.

Just to clarify in case anyone was wondering... I had to call my schools office of medical education to find out if my LOR had been sent in. So things haven't changed on ERAS in the last few years in that you still cannot see the status of your letters until after you've applied..

Sign into ERAS. Click Account tab. Click Track Application tab. Click on My Documents button.

If it has been uploaded it will be listed under "Documents that are in the PostOffice". For example, mine lists Photo and LoR 1.

All the LOR Requests show up under "LoR Requests Submitted". Even the LoR of mine that is already uploaded shows up there too.

Hope that helps.

Have you submitted your ERAS?

good call. I didn't follow up on my last post after someone in my class told us about this. you have to make sure you "reserve an LOR slot" for each writer (this is different than simply designating an LOR writer. Once that happens then your deans office or whoever does it can upload your letters that were sent to them. Then go to the Sign into MyERAS page and rather than signing in just click the ADTS tab -> select "I am a MyERAS applicant" -> log in -> click My Documents and it will list "Documents that are in the PostOffice" (aka uploaded LORs and stuff)

I haven't certified my application yet, and all I have in the ADTS are that my LORs have been requested. I know my Dean's office has received two of my letters but it doesn't show up as uploaded. For applicants that haven't certified their apps, what do you guys see in ADTS? My dean's office said I wouldn't be able to see anything til I applied?

mine has a header that says:
"Documents that are in the Post Office"

and then a little list:
"photo
LoR 1"

below that, the list of my LoR requests.

I have NOT submitted yet.

Thanks- yeah mine just started looking like yours a few days ago. Weird b/c I've been obsessively checking and I know my LORs were uploaded 2 weeks ago.
