Hello.

On the AADSAS app there was an option to waive the rights or not to waive the rights. I was just wondering where one would go to read the LOR if he/she didnt waive the rights.

i think it says somewhere on aadsas that even though u dont waive ur rights u still cant view it through aadsas....and i have no idea how else you would view it unelss u ask the person who wrote it. Its pretty important to waive ur right to see it though.

Just waive your rights. If you don't trust your recommender enough for that, you shouldn't be asking him/her to serve as a reference.

It is kind of to late for that... It is not that I don't trust them, I just would like to see what they wrote. I am a bit curious about that and it makes me work harder to keep meeting those expectations🙂

I hope this is not giving out that I dont trust them or anything....

I was unsure what waiving my rights would do to my application so I called a few ds. Ihad two schools tell me they won't seriously consider what's written in LORs if the rights aren't waived. It was their feeling the recommender wouldn't be as forthright with information if the applicant was going to read the letter. One Dean of Admission's said there school won't consider an application complete if the required letters are written with the rights not waived. You probably ought to check with the schools you applied to just in case.

just ask them for three more additional copies sealed with their signature. When you get them, open and read.

Then when you read about how they talked about your integrity you can wince in pain.

I don't think there is a way to read it unless you ask your writer or the dental school it was sent to.

I know you are curious but just let it go.

That's really easy. For people who you have rapport with, simply ask them if you can see a copy of their letter. Many of them would be happy to do that since they know that as a reference their letter is going to be on the positive side. Besides, as long as you trust them to write a positive letter that is all it really matters.

Yea that is true. I just called AADSAS and they told me that I cannot have it switched now. 🙁 I really had no idea that this would hurt my application. What should I do?

If AADSAS hasn't sent the letters out yet, delete them off of AADSAS, make a new LOR request this time saying you are waiving your rights, and have your letters sent to AADSAS again.

I just called AADSAS and they told me that once they have received the letter from the professors that I wouldn't be able to submit a new matching form. How come? It hasn't been sent to the schools yet?
