As a non-traditional applicant I graduated from college about a decade ago Most of my professors have retired or passed on. I am applying this year after taking the DAT and getting a 22 TS and 23 AA.

Is there any way around the science recommendation?

Non-trad here as well. They do know this but if you had been so far removed from academics that all your profs are unable to give a LOR, it's a problem since they cant judge your aptitude for dental school. If you cant find any other way, I would suggest to take a year off and take a few science courses again and get to know your profs for fresh LORs.
