This is probably a unique question.

I have a LOR that was written by a deceased instructor [before she died, if that isn't clear]. My university, collects and forwards all my LOR's automatically. What do you guys think of using a LOR thats 1.5 years old.

It's fine. Don't worry about it. Just use it if you think it's a decent rec. :D I have recs from non-deceased professors that are more than 1.5 years old. :p
