How is everyone managing there LOR's to the different schools. Are you not sending them until you get secondaries, are you using a service? What's been the general practice of several of you as you are beginning this process and what are the pro's and con's of the different ways?

I use my school's LOR service, and I only send out letters when I get a secondary since each school has its own requirements.

school's service. let them handle all that crap. you just need to tell them where to send it to.

What if you aren't in school right now? I've been out of undergrad since 1997, and finished PA school last year?

There are letter services online that you can use if you are out of school.

my school doesnt have a letter service, so is the best thing for me to do is just hand my profs envelops with addresses on them so they can stick copies of the LOR and send them off?

That is exactly what I've been doing. Just make sure you tell the profs that you have a deadline for each one. Also, just to let you know, some profs will like them on a weekly basis (not every day). Ask the profs if you can have some of their personalized envelopes to print addresses on for them. Some will be quite happy when you do this. But overall, it involves a lot of running around.
