Hi guys,
I am counting on a total of 5 recommendations eventually, however only 3 have been sent thus far. I couldnt wait for the other 2, so I went ahead and send the first 3 that I had. As for the other two, do I need to let the schools know that there are 2 additional letters eventually on their way for a total of 5? I would like them to know to at least evaluate me with all my possible resources. Is it customary to send more evaluations once u have paid the secondary fee? Should I send an email or write to each school to let them know that I also have 2 more letters for them?

Thanks

I would at least drop 'em an email. That way they don't make a final decision on you until they have all the info. Couldn't hurt, ya know? Good luck!

The thing is, the reason you went ahead and sent the first 3 is you wanted them to start evaluating your application, right? You have to make a choice. Either they do evaluate you with what they have now, or they don't. It sounds to me like you picked the former. If the schools you're applying to accept more than 3 letters than send them the other 2 letters as soon as they're in.

I am actually doing the same thing. I have sent 3 to some schools which ultimately are not my 3 strongest, but I didn't want to wait for the other 2 anymore for my application to start being evaluated. When the other 2 come in I will send them in hopes that, if I haven't already been rejected or invited for an interview, those 2 letters will improve the consideration of my application.

Your school doesn't have a pre-professional committee packet they do (a composite packet)?

I would let the schools know the other letters are coming and send a friendly note that goes something like.....
"thank you in advance for offering to write my LOR. I know you are busy..... I just wanted to let you know that the deadline is approaching soon and if you have any questions, please let me know." That worked well for my letters
