i've heard people say that AADSAS will send out my applications with or without the LORs, and that they won't hold up the application. Can anyone go into more detail about that? i just found out that something came up and i probably will not have my LORs out until early/mid september... am i going to be one of those "Late Applicants"?

*edit* i haven't submit the app yet, i was planning on doing it in about 4 hours...

As far as I know, you wont be considered a late applicant. They will forward your letters to the school once they are recieved. If the school is interested, they will notify you and possibly request those materials that werent submitted with the application.

This exact situation happened to me. So please listen and believe what I am telling you.

My AADSAS app was finished in mid July (except without letters), it was mailed in mid September (again without letters), schools received it/processed it in October. No one called me or said anything until I finally submitted my letters in the beginning of December. THEN schools finally called me and I got a couple of interview invites.

The longer it takes you to fully complete your app the longer its going to be until you get an interview and also the less chance you have of getting in to the school of your choice.

I was lucky that UNLV holds half the class for in-staters, otherwise i dont think I would have gotten in anywhere, simply because my app was completed so late.

GET YOUR LETTERS IN ASAP!

But if they didn't get application until October, than it is not a stretch to think you wouldn't get an interview invite until December.....?????

so do you think i would be okay if i submit my application tomorrow (will probably get verified and whatever else and sent to schools by mid/late-aug, i think) and then had my LORs sent in by early/mid september?

at this point, im just trying to get in anywhere... 🙁

You should definatly submit without the letters. They will send the app without it. Atleast the schools have it and they can do what they wish. Some may not look at it, but others may. And get your letters in ASAP. I am in the same situation as you this year. I learned from last year and submitted early, but my proffesors are trying to give me a heart attack. They just will not send the letters. However, atleast I am getting requests for secondary applications etc.
