Hey guys, got a question:

I currently have LORs from a DO as well as an MD. It might be a ridiculous thing to ask, but would it be better to get 2 DO letters and nix the MD? I can't imagine it hurting my app, but I'm not certain if there is some sort of etiquette regarding the matter.

Would a recommendation from any recent alums hold any weight?

Thanks!

An alumni recommendation could only help, but it's only for 1 school of the (hopefully) many you are applying to. Not really a big leg up.
2 DO LORs do not give you any real advantage. One DO is all they need, to see you understand DO practice, philosophy, all that jazz.
MD +DO = DO +DO. Don't redo the math, no need for the fuss. Stand pat and move ahead.

Appreciate it!
