Hello I am a prelim starting this July.I am planning to apply again this year for EM/IM residencies.I plan to upload LOR from my current program. To get all my LORs before sep 1 ,I will have to get LORs by mid august.I will only be 1-1/2 in to the program by then.Is it too soon to get a good LOR from PD and attendings or should I wait a bit longer.

Does a prelim year male you more "attractive " for EM .

What kind of prelim are you? IM, TY, other? I would think transitional or straight medicine would both prepare you for combined EM/IM. I would talk to your PD and let them know your plans. You will need their help later getting time off for interviews. I think a month or 2 is enough time for a LOR if they interact with you in that time. Make sure you're not on some random rotation out of the dept that month.
