How can we complain? Lakers have been to the nba finals in the past 3 years and won 2 of those years....I think I would have taken this deal 4 years ago if someone said, are you fine going to 3 nba finals, winning 2 of those, then losing the year after?

Its not about the winning/losing. Did you see the sore-loser play the last 8 minutes Odom and Bynum did?

yes, lamar's was not that bad, but Bynum's was not right and a dirty play. But bynum is very young and naive, and not truly representative of the LAKERS as a whole.

It ends this year to begin a new legacy. Just like us D15 🙂 Can't wait till the trade.

now that the lakers r gone, maybe i can focus more on the DAT 🙂

Being from LA I'll always be a laker fan. Although methinks I'll jump onto the Chicago Bulls bandwagon since I'm moving to Chi-Town for dental school 😀

first of all, it's D12. and he's not going to LA. kobe's played in his last finals, it's the end of an era. dwight's gonna wanna go somewhere where he can win rings.

and that will be LA.. not sure of three 7 footers tho since Gasol and Bynum have at least a couple more years w/ Lakers

So glad the Lakers are out of it!!!!

And what did Bynum do? I heard about that, but I missed the game

He basically gave a forearm shiver/elbow to J.J. Barea as he was going to the hoop.

Lately the lakers have shown what a bunch of classless thugs they have become when they are losing. Artest, Odom, Bynum, ...dirty.

lol, They call it playoff basketball🙄

For Tufts, it is D15 since they expect us to graduate that year so no D12 for us. Anyways, Lakers again next year. Just remember 2008 😛

Welcome to southern california 🙂 There are rarely 1v1 fight here. Just pure bullets or straight up jumping.

Lakers players are pieces of crap. Especially bynum and odom. Way to end up the game by getting ejected and injuring Barea and Nowitzki.

GO MAVS.

I always felt Kobe was overrated and his 3Peat was in an Era of "bad" teams. It was nothing like Jordan and the Bull's saga.

Needless to say, I respect him and his accomplishments, but he is way overrated. He should of retired after the 3peat. He's just getting old and the young talent already is taking over the game.

IMO, Jordan was and still is king.

P.S. Luke Walton needs to GO. So badddddddd.

Ummm...he was 23 when that happened.

boston blew you fools out in 2008. capped by a 39 point demolition...worst laker loss in playoff history.

Obviously a laker hater with a comment like that. Does that explain the recent repeat as well?

Too many people are hating here.. lets see how far Mavs will got this season🙄

btw. kobe just finished up his 15th season averaging 25 ppg. just sayin'

only 25? Anyone can do that. He is so overrated. Don't know why I'm going to dental school. Anyone can average 25 a game, and correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't kobe make almost as much money as a general dentist?
But the downside is that the NBA is becoming saturated with 6'6" guards that average 25 a game. Dang it

dang. and there are some ppl who are going to be attending ucla next year too. can't hate on the lakers if ur coming to ucla lol

haha been laker-hatin in cali for years and i don't intend on changing my ways. respect to kobe and d-fish is as clutch as they come, but they're already shells of their past selves. you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. d12 would have to play for free to fit onto that ridiculous payroll too so don't hold your breath on that.

good catch. nothing gets past you.

btw, that was sarcasm and so was the original post by mr24...fyi since you don't seem to have an eye for that sort of thing.

Classic Laker fan comment. Not willing to give any credit to anyone but themselves. Don't know how many times Bynum, Odom, and others had to say No we didn't lose because we were tired, we lost because they flat out beat us.

And don't get me started on Lakers fans booing Gasol. What a freaking joke! This guy gave you 2 championships! You were nothing before he came along and you boo him after a couple bad games. It's just ridiculous.

haha that's cool. ill be heckling you for the next 4 years at ucla about that then. what's your team?

btw, dwight will force a trade. they don't want him to just walk to la for nothing back in return

not going to lie, the mavs were a better team.

but gasol was the reason we lost. in fact, he lost us that first one in 2008 when he got destroyed by garnett as well. That article about kobe making his teammates tougher than they really are, its true.

Lol, here we go. Blame Gasol for everything. I really just don't get it. You guys picked him up 2/3 of the way through the season and expect him to play perfect, cohesive basketball a few months later!? Absurd! Have you blocked out those seasons in between Shaq and Gasol where you were lucky to make the playoffs? Do you remember the summer of 07 when Kobe was practically demanding to be traded?

You guys have been fed Kobe, Kobe, Kobe your whole lives. It's just amazing how Lakers fans think everything Kobe touches turns to gold while anybody else is automatically the reason for their failure.

By the way, Gasol is NOT the reason you lost. You lost because you couldn't guard the perimeter to save your life. And yeah, Kobe is a big part of that.

ha ha ha ha ha. I'm so glad you are getting so mad about this. You are the joke. It's just basketball, lighten up.

no, we expected him to be tough. he played soft that series and again in this mavs series. that's all. just be tough.

lol at getting worked up over this. but i think ur just another kobe hater. yea kobe has his flaws but what superstar doesnt. he played 15 seasons with injuries so no one expects him to be the defending anchor of the lakers. but when all your starting guards are old, your bench guards play below average, of course the quicker mavs guards got their way.

btw, the lakers defense wasnt a problem in the first 2 games, the softness at the other end was.

really??? wow

Hilarious how so much goes over some pre-dents heads...makes me more confident for my interviews🙂 And let me guess, prsndwg, you probably have a 3.7 gpa and got a 21 on the dat?

I'm really not a Kobe hater. I may just sound that way because people hype him up so much and never want to hold him accountable. If the Mavs had fizzled out, people (as they have throughout his career) would call Dirk out. But when LA collapses, it's Gasol's fault. Definitely has nothing to do with Kobe only scoring 17 pts a piece in games 3 and 4 right?

I would argue that the Lakers perimeter D was a huge problem in game 2 as well. Remember Barea penetrating at will in crunch time when the Lakers were trying to make a run?

IDK, I just thought the booing of Gasol was tacky. This is a guy that brought you 2 more championships that you would not have had without him. Just think he deserves a little more respect considering you guys were going nowhere before you picked him up. You can't win every year...

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Crap.... A laker hater said it. But yet when we lose its big news and everyone talks Crap on the lakers. No one has said anything about the spurs or hornets. But if the lakers don't win every year all the sudden kobe is over rated and everyone else on the lakers sucks and is old. And everyone thinks the kobe era is over. So funny. But I agree, they can't and won't win EVERY year.

The current hype isn't about the lakers not being able to 3peat, but rather about getting beat so badly. Nobody picked the Mavs to win so it's a big deal; no need to cry about getting unfavorable attention for: 1) Losing. 2)being sore losers. Its hard not to make headlines when your star players resemble WWE Wrestlers more than professional basketball players.

I know that Kobe honestly has amazing talent and think that he was one of the few to show poise and class despite losing.

That's true, I forgot that everyone expected the spurs to lose hence no hype.
Yes bynum was a sore loser, but not odem. If dirk kept wispering crap to me i would have done the same thing. Anyway I'm done with this. The Mavs were the better team, end of story!!!!

Whoa whoa whoa buddy! All this coming from someone who just a few lines up was telling ME to "lighten up?" Lol

Trust me, I said plenty about the Spurs losing. The only thing that could have made that better is to have us (the Mavs) be the ones beating them!

My "you can't win every year" line however is not directed at any Joe Blow critiquing the Lakers but at their own fans who for the most part (in my opinion) have shown just about as much class in losing as Bynum, Odom, and Artest. Even this very own thread was started by none other than a Laker fan!

I certainly don't think the "Kobe era" is over but my point is that he wasn't particularly great in this series either. Why are Lakers fans so quick to ignore his subpar performance and so eager to boo Gasol right out of LA?
