I'm VERY new at this, so please forgive if this is a stupid question.
I've been to the aamc site, and am just wondering which are the best as far as cost vs. quality? USC looks great, but does anyone know tuition/aid info? I'm not a re-app or a gpa booster, I'm a totally blank slate, so that outs UCLA for me. Cal States don't seem to want to take Post-bacs. Community Colleges seem to be a bad idea from med-schools perspectives. And Irvine, Scripps, Chapman, Fullerton are a LONG way away. Just hoping someone has some experience to share...
How about NoCal? I'm nervous about cost of living, though SFSU looks good... Any ideas?
Thanks!!!!!

Hey!... I'm doing an informal post-bac at Cal State LA right now. I'm not sure if they are or are not accepting post-bacs but I know plenty of people here who are doing the same thing as myself so you may want to look into it again. I have enjoyed my post-bac experiences here so far and have met some great motivated people. PM me if you have a specific questions about the school.... I'd be glad to help ya out 🙂

Come to SFSU we can do it together even though we don't know each other, it will be great! 😀 Come to Nor Cal, it's expensive but the world won't end. Just ask Scota, he came up here from LA to SFSU... 😀 Can you tell I really want someone to start the program with me at the same time?? 😛

NorCal... also you can look at CSU Hayward and Mills. Mills is private and would be hella expensive. Hayward also has a post-bac program, I think less well-known than the one at SFSU. But the cost of living is lower in the East Bay if you can deal with a less urban experience. And rents in the city are much lower than they were a few years ago... not to say it is cheap but it's better than it was. I believe San Jose State also has a post-bac or at least a way to do it informally. Good luck 🙂

So far, I've been really impressed with my professors at SFSU! Hopefully, that'll be the case until I finish all my pre-reqs 🙂.

I actually completed the Chapman(Orange) Post Bacc program in May 2003. It prepared me well for the MCAT and for med school. The premed advisor there is great. I had looked at Fullerton and Long Beach but they were not very well organized. I started med school last month.

Hey,
I am getting my MPh at Loma lInda and then considering the post-bac here.
I know the school overall is very supportive and it is on the website. I live in LA and loma linda is about one hour away is that too far?
