Love the site!
So I was wondering what people's opinions were of the L.A. based schools.
I was thinking of applying to either Antioch or Pepperdine if I pursued an MFT (as UCLA I think only has a Phd program and no masters in psychology program.) Antioch is appealing because while both offer night time classes, Antioch offers a one-day a week possibility, and then chance to get through the course work in 1 and a 1/2 years. But I don't know about its reputation.
If I went the MSW route, I was thinking of applying at UCLA or USC (UCLA being much more affordable, but USC having a slightly better rep, I think, which might make it easier to get work after.) Is one known for having more of a clinical focus? My goal is to eventually open a private practice and practice psychodynamic therapy.
Also, I've read that MSW candidate's can get paid for the 3000 hours they need to work (supervised) to get licensed while the MFT candidates do not. That surprised me, so I wanted to hear others experiences.
Thanks!
