So I was accepted to medical school five days ago, and ever since I've had no appetite. I was at a BMI of 24.0 and now I've lost 2-3 pounds already.
Is it just me or is this normal? I know people tend to lose weight when they're sick or stressed out, but the cause of this is excitement. I didn't expect to get accepted this late into the cycle, and it still feels surreal that I'm going to be a doctor. Does anyone know when this phase will end?
I am trying to eat more and get good nutrition into my diet, by the way.

I'd go to your school's health services and see a nurse/doctor. It could even be something unrelated to the acceptance. I was really excited after my acceptance too and didn't eat as much as I usually did. I did eat regular meals, however.

Thanks, I'm basically in the same situation as you were. I'll see a doctor if it doesn't get better.

Congrats on the acceptance! I know I lose my appetite when I'm super-pumped or super-excited. I'm assuming you're both?

After I was accepted, I had trouble falling asleep for a couple days because I was just super happy and excited. :heckyeah: I also noticed that I wasn't eating as much during that time, but I got my appetite back fairly soon after.

But yeah, if your appetite doesn't come back anytime soon, you should get it checked out. Congrats again! :claps:

Thanks, that is reassuring! I was a bit worried because I thought I would be relaxed after an acceptance. I guess I'm a different type of person.
