Hey guys,

I'll be applying for the next upcoming cycle and have realized I have a lot of questions about the whole application process. While talking to my professors about letters of recommendation, they said they'll need an AADSAS number. Is that my Dent pin? I'm also not really familiar with sending the letters in, do I ask for the letter now and then when the application is available, ask my professors to send them? I know some people use interfolio, how does that work?

I know that right now the application process is closed and won't begin again until early june, is there anything I can do application wise at this moment so that when the application is available I can get it done as soon as possible?

I appreciate the help, and I'm sorry if these questions seem a bit odd. This is my first time applying and I've realized how much different it is then applying to grad school. I'm a bit overwhelmed with everything and I'm just trying to get all the information laid out a bit clearer for me.

Thanks

Ok, hopefully my breakdown helps you out:

1. Dentpin - this is the number you use to register for the DAT. don't give this out.

2. AADSAS # - when you open your application in June, you will see this long number...the first four numbers are 2014 and the number continues on. that is the number your professors are referring to. If I remember correctly, you will not have that number until you open your app June 3rd but someone can correct me on this.

3. Sending out LOR - Ask for letters now. Unless your professors are personally uploading your letters, I don't know why they are asking for the aadsas #. I personally used my pre-health committee. You just pay them a fee, give them all your information.

When you open your application for the first time, there is a section called LOE Matching Form - you will print out this matching form and give it to the pre-health committee. They will fill it out and upload all your recommendation letters to AADSAS.
**There are other ways to send it too but this is how I did it and I don't want to give you wrong information.

4. Transcripts - on the aadsas application, there will be a Transcript matching form. You will print this out too and give it to your university's registrar's office so they can send out the official form.

Hope this helps!
