The main worry I had/have with becoming a DO is that upon completion of medical school, I'm gonna have to relocate to a real rural area out in the midwest ...which there is nothing wrong with, but i live 30 minutes outside of NYC (10 min away from NYCOM) and I always pictured myself living here when I'm older. Although, I must say I just did a 'search for doctors' on my insurance companies website and they're are a decent amount of DO's in the Long Island suburbs and around NYC ...even quite a few specializing in Urology, Cardiology, and General Surgery.......I feel a little more comfortable after finding that out because I just don't want to have my options on living location and medical speciality limited.

I think that is what oseteopathic medicine needs, informed consumers, congrats!

William,

I am deeply sorry to inform you, but I fear you will have no choice but to move to the Midwest. 😱 An opossum told me so. NY will show you no love. I hope you like corn bread and chicken, 'cause you're going where you'll hear twin fiddles and a steel guitar on every radio station. The question is, will it be Hank Jr. or Hank Sr.?

Seriously though, how are we supposed to respond to your comments? What knowledge are you seeking? Is this just a rant? All I can say is whatever path you choose in life, you're gonna need your trusty shovel to get through crap. How well can you shovel?
