Can anyone comment on LSU and Tulane Programs??
I have heard that didactics are better in LSU than Tulane... but clinical experience is virtually the same... I would really appreciate some insight...

Hi Kita! I can only tell you about Tulane, with the caveat that I think LSU has a larger faculty and more money, being a state institution.

Tulane is a great, great place, and very colegial. They have a small faculty, but every one of them is really competent and nice. I think they suffer though from the hospital-wide problem being boght out by a for profit company which has caused some faculty to flee and a little more pressure on making money and a little less on teaching. So in that respect I could see how the didactics might be better at LSU. However, this is part of a national trend. The residents at Tulane are known for being very happy. Some of them are the most excellent residents I have seen (especially the med neuro ones).

Not the best place to do research though.

Hope this helps

Good luck!
