Also, anyone know of a good hotel near UMDNJ??

Im not sure how to choose a good one..

Thanks:luck:

If you drive, there are few hotels near Zorn Ave and River Road, like Ramada. Very close to medical center and usually no traffic during rush hour. Plus there are lot of places to stop by on river road if you get too nervous about interview ;p. And don't forget to go to the other side of the river(Fossil of Ohio) after dark. The city looks beautiful at night.

Good luck and please update me after you done.

Thanks

ooh thanks for the advice🙂 yes i was thinking about choosing that hotel. when i look at google maps, it seems like there arent any hotels directly by the schools right?

hmm, when I left Louisville in 2009, there were few almost done. Like 3-4 block to ULSD. Forget the name though...

Courtyard Marriot is close and so is the Fairfield Inn. Marriot has a shuttle that will take you to your interview in the morning. I suggest them.

Haha, probably not. All our classes are currently in the medical school while the renovations are taking place. We are only in the dental school for Operative and DA, and that's on Tuesday and Fridays from 1-5.

When are renovations scheduled to be completed? I'd sooo love to interview at Louisville. I took my clinical board exam there before renovations began a few years back.

They tell us the clinics will be done after my 2nd year, so summer 2012. As for the new lecture halls, i'm not sure. You all will probably no better about it than me after your interview.

Hey, I have an interview on the 13th too. I got my room at the econolodge.

http://www.econolodge.com/hotel-louisville-kentucky-KY149

there's the link for it. It's like less than a mile away from the dental school. =]

wow thank you for the link. i booked mine at the fairfield inn and its $40 more expensive than the econolodge. im going to try to cancel the faifield tomorrow and book with the econolodge as well. Are you taking a taxi to the school from the hotel or are you walking?

It is only 3-4 blocks. Around are UL hospital and research complex, so pretty safe during the day...so walk🙂

Dependent on the weather to be honest. However, even if it's only half a mile away, I don't wanna go in there a big sweaty mess. If anything, since I get into Louisville around 3pm the day before, I'll walk to it on Sunday just to get a feel for the area. Most likely though, probably get a taxi.

There are a bunch of hotels around the school and there are a bunch of B&B's within a few minutes driving distance. I'll be interviewing there the 17th, I have been trying to decide where to stay also.

Will see you on 17th then.🙂

For 3-4 blocks, you guys just need to walk. believe me they are small blocks. :luck:

Good luck to all of us, just see you there. Hoping that all of us will pass it.

Just got to Louisville!! I am excited!! Who wants to meet for dinner??? I have an interview tomorrow!!

I just interviewed at Louisville on Friday and loved it. Everyone is so friendly, nice and fun, both students and faculty! People just seemed sooo happy. The interview was really low-stress too, actually pretty fun! I think it would be a great place to spend 4 years, I would love to get in. :luck:

If you guys have any questions about The Ville' feel free to ask away. Its a great school and I have loved my time here.

see everyone in a few minutes! Good luck to all!
Ally

Can anyone please post the in-state stats for U of L, as in how many Kentucky residents applied/how many interviewed etc. I don't have the ADEA Dental School guide yet. I'd really appreciate someone's help.

:xf: Definitely crossing my fingers! I really hope to interview at Louisville. I took my clinical board exam at this school a few years back and loved it ever since! Neat school, great city. I'm OOS though. Staying positive!

Hey guys,

Still have not heard anything from Louisville and getting really anxious. Were you notified through email of an interview? Did AADSAS ever update??

Me too. We just need to be patient, but it is killing me too. I check my email all the time 😳.

So, I have a question for you guys. I have called the admissions office 3 times in the past month. Each time was for a specific reason but I still don't want to come off as unprofessional. Everyone I have talked to at the school is very nice, but do you guys know if they frown on phone calls? Are they marking off a "student keeps calling us" box on my file or something?

Just to let you guys know that Louisville does keep track of who is calling and showing their interest. SO calling can be a good thing as long as your not just wasting their time. Which brings the age old question; "what do I call about to show them I am interested but not bug them?" I will let you all figure that out because I have to get ready for my physio exam in 4 days. Good luck to you all though.

Hey Idaho, and anyone else that may know,
Do you know anywhere else they keep track of your calls? UDM? NYU? Boston?
