I have been accepted to both schools and I really like NOVA, but i'm worry about the fact that national board exam is on the first year, cause instead of 2 years to prepare, NOVA students will have only one year can u guys elaborate

would you rather live in louisville or ft. lauderdale?

as far as the boards, i don't think it is a big deal.....study hard and you'll do well.

jb!🙂

dude seriously i would SO rather live in ft lauderdale than richmond...i'm hating that i have to live in richmond the next 4 years when technically i could be enjoying florida....but i see myself at vcu and love it there soooooo im gonna have to ignore the richmond part and the fact that it COULD have been florida haha🙁....sorry i dont know how louisville is...

How cool is it that you could have the first part of the Boards done and out of the way much earlier than many other schools. If you are going to do well, I doubt it will be because you took a couple extra dental school credits. I would think the consideration would be on class size. Doesn't NOVA have a much bigger class size than Louisville? I don't know, I could be wrong on that one.

are you kiddddinnnggggg me? enjoying florida, huh? i've grown up in south florida and each year it becomes more trash, trash, trash....... the most popular languages rank in this order spanglish > ebonics > spanish > english, there are NO seasons (it's 82 degrees right now as i type), traffic sucks & people can't drive, etc. etc.....i could go on and on.

i'm a bit biased b/c i'm a south florida boy looking for my way OUT..
jb!🙂 (no, i'm not trying to persuade people from going to nova....i didn't even apply)

Oh man... 82 all the time. I would LOVE that! Too bad it's so far from home. As far as spanish speaking, I can relate to your frustration. It was the same way when my husband lived in DC. Pres. Fox de Mexico used to hand out brochures on coming to Montgomery county MD (suburb of DC) to be catered to. I have even heard that public schools in MD give illegal immigrants in state tuition or are considering it. The problem, as in what you are mentioning is that many don't speak a word of english. I don't mind anyone coming to America (legally) but when my grandmother came from Germany, she learned English. I don't think it's too much to ask especially if you are going to work in the public sector. OK>.... Off my soapbox now 😛

The things I would look at are:
Class Size - edge UoL
Cost - edge UoL
Part 1 Success - ??

***The tangibles like location/night life can be biased either way because Ft. Lauderdale is nice...but expensive. Louisville is nice in it's on way Downtown on the water and not as expensive.
***I dont think you can base most of your decision on the aforementioned tangibles because you are going for EDUCATION and it will only be for 4 years then you may go where you wish...or match.

hahaha yea I guess I wouldn't know...all I saw of it was when I was there for my interview and it was sooo nice......BUT i was born in miami and lived there til I was 2 and then moved to VA...so technically I'm a south florida girl HAHA not really

I'm going to Louisville. I live in Louisville. I have also Lived in South Florida. Let me say this:

I love S. Florida. I've spent a lot of time in SoBe, Ft. Lauderdale/Davie, West Palm, the Keys. I love it. But I wouldn't pick my school based on the fact that I like the beach.

If I were in Florida I'd never get any studying done. I'd be so tempted to do other things.
