Anyone knows how many seats are left at Louisville? I called about recent invites and they said they will go all the way till Jan. end. Considering this is the end, I guess its not happening?

Invites for interviews or for 2nd round acceptances?
 
Does anyone know when they start picking from waitlist!?
 
I would love to know when they start picking from the waitlist also. But I did hear the waitlist is like 80+ people.
 
I called and was told that practically everyone from when I interviewed (1/14) was placed on the "next to be called" list....waitlist. I was also told that was because the dust hadn't yet settled from 15th deposits. Thats my 2 cents.
 
I called around the 16th, and they said the waitlist movement should start around the middle of this week. I don't know if anyone has gotten in off of it yet, or if they haven't started the movement. There is one person on predentas that got an acceptance on the 16th, if that means anything i dont know😕:scared:
 
Wow.....80+ on the waitlist!!! That seems like a lot!! Did someone from the dental school tell you that? If they said that there maybe movement by the middle of this week.....we are in trouble. Today is Thursday!! Also does anyone know how many people they accepted from the 1st round?
 
So Louisville is out for me. 80+ on waitlist= no chance for interview now. This officially sucks.
 
Is that 80+ people with instate and out of state combined. Dentalgal where did you get the info about the 80+ people on the waitlist, I called and they wouldn't disclose the info.
 
Whenever I called around december 3rd or so, they said they sent out "way more than 80 acceptance letters." They also said that last year 60% of their incoming class was once on the "next to be contacted list." That's about 48 people! I wish they would just tell us something already!
 
When I interviewed there on the 7th of January I heard some people talking about how they had already heard the waitlist was that long. I didn't hear from actual admission staff so it could just be a rumor. but if 60% is taken off the waitlist we all still have a chance!
 
Hang in there guys/gals! People sometimes hold down spots or decide to go to their state school so there is always a chance as long as you are on the "next to call list". Some people have no problem losing $500, so they will hold a spot but later not go. That is why I think schools should up the deposits like to 2000k. That would really deter people from not being serious about attending. Anyway, hope you get in! (Especially you ElectraOnAzalea)

=)) It's really awesome that you're rooting for me. It makes picking Louisville so much more easy.😍 I hope i hear something soon! Right now, i'm just ecstatic for the fact that in four years i'm going to be a dentist! i just hope i end up in the environment that i'm envisioning. =)))
 
Hey Jigaboo, how did you get that info about half the class being filled? Just wondering cuz I'm one of the "next to be called" and that would be great news.
 
I mail them back telling them I wasn't interested in being waitlisted....Hopfully that opens up a waitlist spot for someone else...if that makes sense...😀
 
Would you really pick Louisville OVER your state school??
I mean I like Louisville alot but I don't know if I would pick it over my state school...just wondering. Congrats though! 🙂

they were interviewing people yesterday, (1/28/08) so there are still spots available.

but the invites stop going out at the end of this week, I keep thinking tmrw i will get something tmrw i will get something...so far I've gotten nothing these past 2 weeks when i thought post-jan 15 news would give big results! its sad esp. for this school because they are ending interviewing soon! :scared:

It is a really tough decision, but basically I really felt like i belonged there and it was an environment in which i would be able to excel. It's a lot of money, but I feel that I would be able to make it work. If I am accepted, there will be a lot of thinking to do, at this time though I'm not even in the shoes to make that decision.

I see what you mean. Louisville was one of my faves as well. I love it there. 🙂 Let me know what happens and I hope you get into Louisville!

You're right! Nothing from the waitlist yet! The only one that I know of is on predents that says Jan. 16th acceptance. Is that really possible to have only accepted one person since the initial acceptance on Dec. 1? Seems like a long time ..... with no one else being accepted. Hope they haven't filled all their seats yet!!
 
I was recently accepted to UofL and my good buddy is a 4th year on the admissions committee, most of the info here is pretty accurate according to him.

When you say you were recently accepted to UofL.....do you mean Dec. 1st or do you mean sometime after? I'm just wondering about 2nd round acceptances. If you don't mind me asking! Thanks!
 
just called the admissions office and was told that they did send out a few 2nd round acceptances and are waiting to hear from them. did anyone here get any update on their application or hear from them? please do let me know..... thanks

I was accepted Dec. 1st. There is a girl in my Master's program that was accepted a couple weeks ago. So I know they sent out some 2nd wave acceptances. If you haven't heard anything by March 1st, that's when I would start panicking. I've gone through this 4 years now with Louisville, after March 1st there's still a shot, but it's a LONG shot(but it's a better shot if you're out of state at that point - more shuffling happens).
 
what do you mean by 72 on the roster?
 
man that doesn't leave much for us on the wait list.

Actually, I think a few names on the rosters are admins so there should be more than 8 spots left for sure. 🙂
 
Louisville, why must you torture me so?! At least accept a few people on pre-dents so that I know movement is happening! 😕

Movement is happening! If you notice on predents, about 12 or so people were rejected on Feb. 11 or 12th. So maybe they will start accepting a few soon!
 
When all of you accepted people get on your Louisville Blackboard, do the numbers change.....as to the number of people on the roster? In other words, can you keep letting us know how many seats are left? Please keep us informed if you don't mind! Thanks!

When those changes happen, I'm sure you'll hear about it. As of right now no changes, and the current numbers IMO aren't accurate either. There's a girl in my current program that was accepted who's name I do not see on the roster...and after next week, I think there will be little flux. As in, one here, one there as things shake out with other schools(and that'll probably mostly be on the out-of-state side of things). Good luck though.

I think it is not completely accurate either. Some people on the roster are admins, which means there are more than 8 spaces for sure.

Yes that is true, I've seen about 5 names that are admins, there might be 1 or 2 more...but they'll stay on there because that's how it is. I don't think it's updated fully to include the 2nd wave people.
