• Faculty treated everyone well during interview day

Cons:

• SoCal cost of living

Louisville OOS
Pros:

• cheaper cost of living
• Have all the specialties to shadow
• Wonderful community and student body

Cons:

• Far from family
• Large class size
• Midwest weather compared to Cali

• Summary: leaning towards WesternU but would like to see if anyone can add anything about either school.

Compare the COAs, please?

None of your pros and cons are real pros/cons, like curriculum or student support. Both schools like to say students are treated like "family," but we all know families are not all the same or supportive.

WesternU is more of a grad/professional health campus, and you'll be doing a lot of interprofessional education. Louisville is more of a traditional university with undergrads, med students, etc. The cultures are going to be very different.

None of your pros and cons are real pros/cons, like curriculum or student support. Both schools like to say students are treated like "family," but we all know families are not all the same or supportive.

WesternU is more of a grad/professional health campus, and you'll be doing a lot of interprofessional education. Louisville is more of a traditional university with undergrads, med students, etc. The cultures are going to be very different.

I enjoyed WesternU because of the block system when in core sciences. The interprofessional education is something I am already used to because that is how my grad program ran things. Louisville does have an undergrad but the dental campus is actually a couple miles away from them. So they are similar in that aspect. WesternU is about 10k more.
