Hey guys. Looking for some input on my DAT scores:
RC 18
Biology 23
Chemistry 24
Science total 23
Academic Average 22
PAT 17

I totally bombed the RC and the PAT =( How screwed am i? I'm starting a SMP this fall and i'm trying to get the DAT out of my way prior to that.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you guys. I feel like my RC an PAT is borderline though (based on what I see around sdn anyway)
Just gonna try my luck and hope for the best.
Anyone know which schools don't care about the PAT much ?

There are probably VERY few schools that don't care about the PAT. It's quite a bit of a telling section in terms of showcasing how your mind works. Just curious, but what was your QR score? lol

Truth is nobody really cares about PAT as long as your score meets the school's cutoff. Any true perceptual skills needed are taught in dental school (interpreting radiographs, etc). Ask a practicing dentist to do a few keyhole problems. They probably can't.

You're fine. As long as your SMP GPA is 3.5+, a 17 on the PAT won't hurt your application... AA and GPA are much more important.

i was in the same shoes as you op....did you just leave little time to study for the PAT like i did?

I did practice an hour a day for a couple of months with DAT genius/Bootcamp.
I don't have any excuse for it to be honest. I just suck at it in general :bang:

:clap:Congratulations Toothachee101! :highfive: Job well done! DAT Beast Destroyed! You should be very proud of these scores. Schools love to see a high science GPA and you accomplished that. Very few schools put a lot of weight on the PAT and your score is acceptable at the vast majority of schools. When working with students my objective is for them to obtain at least an 18 in reading, you also accomplished that. If you have an acceptable GPA you should receive many interviews and acceptances with these stats.

If you have a certain school in mind and you think these scores would be a problem it is always best to contact them directly..

Wishing you the very best in your journey to becoming a dentist..

I've contacted the schools i'll be applying to and i was advised not to retake it🙂
And thank you for the Destroyers! All i did for the sciences was to go over the Destroyer 3 times. They're a must-have in my opinion.
