Hey guys... I need an honest opinion about this:

I have a low cGPA and sGPA both 2.9, but with an upward trend. I was diagnosed with a brain disorder (The disorder is under control now) before the upward trend. I took my DAT and got 19TS and 19AA but 17 on PAT. I was a student-athlete at D1 with 3 years of research experience. I have about 150+ shadowing experience and 100+volunteering experience. I have great LORs and my personal statement gears toward wanting to be a dental educator. What are my chances if I apply for next cycle?

Your chances are really low. There are minimum GPA’s for dental schools and you don’t reach that. I would go for a masters, get an amazing GPA and retake the DAT since the PAT score is one of the most important ones.

This is just one mans opinion, but I think it would very difficult with a very low gpa like that and a below average DAT. You need to do a postbac and get your average gpa up to at least a 3.2 or get a 23+ on the DAT if you want to have a shot. Perhaps look into masters programs like western university that have a history of accepting students from their masters programs
