A huge ball of brightly burning gas drifting through a neighboring galaxy may be the heaviest star ever discovered — hundreds of times more massive than the sun, scientists said Wednesday after working out its weight for the first time. Those behind the find say the star, called R136a1, may once have weighed as much as 320 solar masses. Astrophysicist Paul Crowther said the obese star — twice as heavy as any previously discovered — has already slimmed down considerably over its lifetime.

chance, yes. You will drastically improve your percentage by doing some postbacc or masters program IMO however. I would apply to d school, but maybe try to sign up for said program, and then bail if you get in next Dec. 1. Good luck

With your DATs you've dramatically increase your potential to be competitive. Nonetheless you probably wouldn't hear from schools with your current GPA. Most schools have cutoffs at around 2.7 and even if there wasn't, 2.5 is still too low. Doing a post-bac to bring your GPA to a 3.0 should be the next step.

When I hear "low GPA", I tend to think 3.0-3.3. Under 3.0 (especially 2.5 science) is usually unacceptable. The good news is you can bring it up by taking a Post-Bac, which the people above have recommended. 1 year of a post-bac taking all science classes and getting all A's still may not bring your Science GPA to 3.0 though. At that point, you may need to do a 1 year SMP (Special Master's Program) and get 3.8-4.0.

It may take 2 years to make up for your basement level undergrad GPA, but you'll get there. Apply after your Post-Bac and you may get lucky. If not, you'll almost certainly get in after doing well at the Post-Bac and also getting 3.8-4.0 at an SMP. Once your GPA is at an acceptable level, schools like UoP and Columbia will be banging on your door with an acceptance letter.

Great job on the DAT by the way.

..amazing scores, if possible can you post a breakdown 🙂
