So I have a low GPA from undergrad. Doing all my pre-req science classes at a post-bac program.

I'm wondering if I should contact my undergrad and try to get a LOR from the pre-med advisory committee, if possible.

I read some people here say that they had interviews with their undergrad advisory committee, even if they were not involved with it as an undergrad. I'm wondering if it would be at all meaningful for someone who had a mediocre undergrad transcript. You know, to have someone interview you and vouch for upward trend or highlight some of the other contributions or positive things accomplished during undergrad that may be overshadowed by the mediocre GPA?

Is this something other people have done? Or is it totally out of left field?

You should contact them, ask them to be honest about your credentials and what they think about your candidacy for medical school. If they are hesitant or seemed unsure about writting you a letter; I would not get a LOR from them. A poor letter is worse than no letter at all.
