Very low cumulative GPA 2.0
High science GPA thus far with A's in anatomy and physiology 1&2, general chemistry one and two.
ECs are no problem. Worked in ED,ICU,MED/SURG,LTC/rehab, shadowed, volunteer at free clinic.

I am unable to bring GPA over 3.0 because of my high number of credit hours (134 credit hours)

I was accepted into nursing school, but I would prefer medical school. Only reason nursing school accepted me was because they looked at my most recent performance.

I emailed several MD schools and they said that I would make it for an interview.

With a GPA maxed at 2.5 I wouldn't even meet minimum requirements.

Go to RN school?

Apply to both. If you get into an MD or DO program just drop out of nursing.

They definitely lied. There is still a chance for you though if you take a gap year or two and retake classes you did poorly in and get A's in them. Then you could apply DO. MD would probably still be out of the question though.

Obligatory - URM?

Even so, you're still far behind the cutoffs for D.O. schools. You can either do an SMP or formal post-bacc and then have a shot.

I have 5 classes left to retake. I emailed the MD schools a spreadsheet of GPA calculations, and included in them retaken classes. If grades were replaced I would have no problem, but since they are averaged I am running into a road block.

I will begin to contact DO schools.
