Hey guys, I recently started working on entropy, and I'm not yet good at working these problems. Can anyone walk me through this one?

"What is the entropy of ice at 0o C?"

Thanks 🙂

I'd like to help. I enjoyed thermodynamics but it's been at least 5 years since I took my last thermo class. What equations do you know so far for calculating Entropy? Most likely you'll be asked to calculate the change in entropy (delta S or dS) rather than the absolute value of entropy itself, in that case, you can calculate backwards using dH and dG (again, depends on which equation you have on hand)

dG = dH -TdS

Alternatively you can calculate melting ice dS by dS = dQ/T (substitute Q w/ latent heat of melting for ice). And so on and so forth. Hope this helps a bit?
