Hey all,

I am a Senior at the University of Michigan and have just recently decided to put off medical school for now, and get my MPH first, then go to medical school.

I am a Neuroscience major and my GPA is 3.67.
My MCAT score is a 25Q (8 VR, 8 PS, 9 BS)

Since most people it seems take the GRE when applying to Public Health Schools, will my MCAT score greatly hinder my chances?

I have decent recommendations, alot of research experience, volunteering/ shadowing, and will have good essays.

I plan on applying to the University of Michigan, Harvard, Yale, University of Virginia, Columbia, NYU, Emory

What do you guys think my chances are?

I think you should still take the GRE and don't show your MCAT score, since the GRE is usually required and your MCAT is not as strong. You can definitely ace the GRE and not have to worry if your MCAT would have hindered your chances, especially at top schools!

My $0.02🙂

Hi, I don't know about the other schools, but for Harvard, you have to be an MD/DO or currently a student in a MD/DO program to substitute the MCAT for GRE.

Or to even apply for an MPH for that matter
