Low part 1 score

hi guys,
I am so dissappointed in myself . I got a low score on Part 1 . its 81. I dunno if it means the end of my dream of doing DDS in US.
Can anyone advise me with what my next step should be? Are there any chances of me getting in any advanced standing program?

My stats are 81/111/3.53

hey buddy!! there is always hope against hope. be determined and focussed and noone can stop u from achieving ur goals.always think wat shud be ur next step. do get some u.s volunteer exp like observorship etc.and make ur application strong.give part 2. try to get a gud score in tht. if possible can go for research..show them tht u r a strong candidate.try to do any course from u.s like masters or anything..by all this i mean to say dont lose hope and improve watever u can..u have very gud gpa and toefl.so dont worry and keep going ahead..this year everyone is getting score in this range and schools might be knowing this.,...gud luck!!

Its not the end of the world. but be prepared for a LONG struggle ahead before getting in. Do apply to as many schools as possible, esp to schools that are known to look for all-rounded candidates - def apply to UCSF!

I think go ahead since nothing can be done about part I. Give your best shot to part II and get into a good program because giving part II will not only compensate for your part I score but it will also provide you with more programs to choose from.

Do not worry about your grade guys!!!Worry about your resume now and do part 2 if you do not have good resume and you will be fine. I was accepted for NYU. This is the first year that I applied and I have 81 as well in part 1 and I do not have part 2. They are looking for the good whole package.

what are ur stats.... i mean work experience, research papers GPA etc...

thank you guys for giving me hopes. i am trying to work on my resume at present. hey Andasa could you share your experiences other than the dental degree. What all did you do to improve your resume?

i had not heard about these.
if these are indeed true, then it is a good sign that the whole package is being considered rather than the score.

Hi,
To the ones that were asking about my background. I am oral surgeon in my country with 3 year of residence. But it is not the point. I think that what is the matter is that anyone can improve the resume... Try publications in home country. try american experience as dental assistant. I have seen people that got in with 75 but a lot of voluntering work and american experience as I said before. It not just about get 90 in part 1, 90 in part 2 and 110 in toefl anymore. Its about your resume as well. Everybody that has the requirements can be called for interview.

i am waiting for my score ..took my exam on the 22nd of feb. neway i just read of a person with a 79 score getting admission in temple univ. hope this makes u feel better.. quite inspiring for me at least 👍
