Hi, I am applying for the next cycle.
Will I ever find my ideal match with a dental school?

What I am most concerned about is how my PAT score will impact my application.
My main concern is in the event I have to take the DAT again my application will be too late in the cycle and I will not be given an interview even though I've put in the work.

Ever since I got that score. I've taken initiative and invested myself in programs that will enhance my hand-eye-coordination, hand dexterity, and overall perceptual ability.
For example, UCR Dental Club Tooth Waxing Part 1 and UCR Dental Club Beginners Tooth Waxing and Denture Course.
Both taught by UCLA dental instructor's Dr. Mark Hunt.

Additionally, I am the current treasurer of my University's Future Dentist Club and the Future Co-President of the same club. (I received positive reviews on my extracurriculars).

Third Year: Biology Major

My Cumulative GPA: 3.49
My Math and Science GPA: 3.42
My Science GPA: 3.40

My DAT scores: 9/10/2018
AA: 20
TS: 20
Bio: 19
GenC: 24
OC: 19
QR: 18
RC: 19
PAT: 17

I had an extremely similar DAT score and I had a 16 PAT and I got into 2 schools.

You want to try and get into the most affordable school, which can be more competitive. You can probably get into a school, but you want to get into an affordable school. I would shoot for 22+, but if price of school isn’t important, then you should be fine 🙂

Thank you for the advice. For me price doesn't matter so thank you for the encouragement

I have almost the exact same DAT as you but higher GPA's.
I think you're fine man, you're like dead avg. when it comes to matriculated students, which is GOOD! I think it just comes down to your personal statement and interview now. Everything else is fine. Don't drink too much of the SDN kool-aid haha

I recommend taking that DAT again. Since your GPA is slightly below average, your DAT score may hinder you from getting into some good school.

I would not recommend taking the DAT again. I had a lower sgpa (3.2) and a slightly higher dat (21 AA/TS) but scored a 16 qr and 18 PAT and had several interviews. Apply broadly (~15 schools) and you will be fine.

Wow!! Congratulations!!!!!!! 🙂 Is your GPA stellar? I have 3.4 overall and 3.0 science....
Half of your schools are where I want to apply to based on my gpa and/or location (USC, Loma Linda, MWUAZ/IL, ATSTILL MO/AZ, Western, LECOM, Roseman, and Howard.)
