I just wanted to give some of you hope who have not scored as well as you would have liked. I took my DAT in October and did not do so good. AA16 TS15 RC18 PAT19. I know my scores are low! My GPA is a 3.4 but my application was extremely well-rounded. I'm a complete procrastinator, which I have learned is a terrible thing when studying for this test. I only studied a week before. I used Kaplan at first, which is not very helpful especially in bio and math and I was scoring 13 on their practice tests. I purchased Crack the DAT which helped tremendously! It was slightly easier than the actually test. I found I scored better in RC when I looked at the questions first and then skimmed the reading. Kaplan taught me to read and then answer the questions, but I was always running out of time because I had to continually look back through the passage.
BUT the reason you low scorers should not give up hope is because I received an interview invite to Howard! I thought I was out of the running because I scored so bad.So I am hoping this interview shows them the my DAT score does not do me justice.

I applied to: Howard, Meharry, Case Western, LECOM, WVU, Kentucky, Louisville, Temple, Tennessee.

So far only heard from Howard.

Good luck, what do you mean by your application being well rounded? What extracurricular activities or extras did you have?

I am involved in various campus clubs, I have volunteered multiple hours in community service (swim lessons for refugees, food banks, food donations, campus ministry, raking leaves for elderly, nursing home visits, ect.). I am a resident assistant at my college and am a member of two college sports teams.
So i guess I'm describing well-rounded as doing other things than just studying and being a home body.

Thanks! My interview is December 01. I was in the first batch to go out but I didn't take my DAT until October 13. I heard from Howard last week. Good luck and I'm sure you'll hear something soon. I completely did not except to hear anything this cycle due to my scores.

Wow that's awesome! I took my DAT late Sept so this gives me some hope. Your interview was yesterday... I know you killed it! 🙂 🙂
