Hello!

I am a B.A. Biology and Japanese double major and just finished my 3rd year at a state university. I have a 3.5 cGPA and I'm sitting at a 3.2 sGPA with absolutely no excuse for my less-than-stellar grades- no illness, no death in the family, no strong upward trend, I have just found it difficult to secure A's in these classes. I am taking two upper-level science courses next semester, but since I have already completed 50 credits of bcpm courses, getting A's next semester won't bump it up at all. I am studying abroad in Japan next spring so I won't be taking any science classes there, and then I'm taking an extra year to finish up my majors and apply.

I took the MCAT last week and I'm hoping for at least a 30. My EC's aren't spectacular, but I still have a year to do some more activities. I'd really rather not go D.O. because I have no interest in practicing OMM. Should I start looking into post-bacc's?

Thanks for the advice!

From reading in the Pre-Osteo Forum, it looks like few DOs use OMM on a regular basis anyway. But if you'd prefer not to consider that route at this time, I think a post-bac is a good way to overshadow the low BCPM GPA, if you can perform extremely well in a science-intense environment competing with med students.
