Hi everyone,
I am applying to medical schools this cycle. I got AMCAS verified yesterday 😀 Here are my stats:
Double major in Biology and Neuroscience
science GPA: 3.53
non-science GPA: 3.79
cGPA: 3.65
I started off with a 3.0 sGPA my freshman year, but got 3.8 in my junior and senior years, so there's an upward trend I guess.
MCAT: 12 VR, 8 PS, 12 BIO. 32O total
ECS:
250 hours of clinical volunteering (ED)
Did research at 2 different labs; no publications
50 hours shadowing (no PCP unfortunately 🙁)
non-clinical volunteer service
Phi Beta Kappa
leadership positions at my fraternity
good recommendation letters
So... I applied to 30 schools, including all the public schools in my state (I am a NY resident) and a lot of private schools in the region. So I really, really want to get in somewhere. But I am worried that my unbalanced MCAT and lower than average sGPA will keep me out of most schools. What does everyone think of my chances?
