So, my first several semesters were bad...
I'm getting an upward trend and I thought I'd be fine since I feel like I am able to reach 3.4-3.5 cGPA, but I just realized my sGPA will be way too low after taking 8 bcpm courses.
Right now, I have 1.96 sGPA. I do still have some of science courses to take (~7+), so there's some hope, but I'm not sure if I am able to my sGPA to a competitive.
I know I still have the DO option although I don't even know how to plan out the entire process on retaking courses since I'm struggling to fit all the gen ed classes.
But yeah, no hope for MD, right?

I'm also interested in getting a Master's degree related to medical profession after I graduate from college because I think it's very interesting and is wondering if it'll increase my chances later when I apply after Master's whether it's MD or DO...

To be honest . . . yes, MD apps should have a sGPA of much better than that. DO is still pretty unlikely. I know some schools have grade replacement . . . if you retake a course an earn a better grade, it replaces the lower score (?)-- can someone please clarify? Yes, getting a Master's and doing well in coursework would help but it will be quite an uphill battle. Hopefully you have some EXCELLENT ECs!

If you fix your deficits and ace everything from now on, and ace the MCAT, there are MD schools that reward reinvention.

But it's easier to use grade replacement and go the DO route.

If you're boning for an MD, then SMP is suggested. Research MS programs have a good deal of grade inflation and MD Adcoms don't take them as seriously.

AACOMAS grade replacement policies only count the most recent grade earned in a class that is retaken, provided the credit hours are the same or greater. Retakes need not be at the same school (and CCs are fine to use after graduation). Course titles need not be identical, so long as the course content is demonstrably similar per the course catalogs.

It depends on how many science credits you have already taken. After my sophomore year, my sGPA was below a 3 after taking 8 science courses or so. I decided to switch to the most credit dense science major (biology) and straight beasted like 14-15 classes in a row and still could only get my sGPA to around a 3.5-3.6, but I like to think that the massive upswing in GPA helped my application.
