Taking the August MCAT and I have a 3.4 Cum GPA, and a 3.85 BCPM GPA, and a fair amount of research, shadowing, and other EC's. What's the lowest MCAT score i can get and still get into a DO program? (Obviously I am shooting to do real well, so i dont wanna hear, try to do the best you can...lol)

I think it's because nobody can give you a definitive answer. Everybody knows that you can easily find out what the national average is for accepted D.O. schools. That should be enough for you to shoot for and apply.

I got in with a 23M. A friend of mine got in with a 21. Another friend of mine got into University of Washington (MD) with a 19..... yeah, a 19. There is more to it then just the numbers.

i got in with a 19Q at two schools, but i would recommend scoring higher than that

hospital experience and personality play a big role too i think

Hey Timbo0984, you can get an idea on the numbers for D.O. applicants as well as D.O. matriculants from AACOM. Like everyone else says, there's more to the application than just the numbers. But numbers are very important in terms of getting yourself to the secondaries or the interviews. Are you applying for the class of 2010? If so, did you throw in your application yet? Just study hard for the Aug MCAT and to be competitive, you need at least an 8 on each section. (Sometimes low verbal scores, like a 5 or 6, are acceptable with a strong reason).

There are indeed many variables. You may want to contact each school and ask if they have a cutoff. You can also check out each school's average at medschoolstats.com, or contact each individually (they'll just tell you their accepted average).

Just apply. You never know what can happen. You have nothing to lose.

Numbers are not important. At least, you have enough GPAs to receive secondaries and possible interviews. I guess MCAT should be at least 24. Again, numbers are just a good guess about whether you MAY survive in med schools. It's only about 50% of accuracy. The other 50% is in your hand. That's why they need to interview to learn more about you. So just cross your fingers and pray. My GPAs are little bit higher than yours, but my MCAT is 24M. I got interview invitation after 3 days of submitting secondary (it took about 1-2 weeks for some other schools). I got an acceptance after 2 days of interview. I guess my interview might happen right before the committee meeting.

Good luck, my friend.
