I figured I'd start a thread for this program, even though it's fairly new and I don't think it has a lot of attention yet. Anyone apply or hear anything about it??

I have this on my list of schools. I really wanna go to Chi-town!

I applied back in January and still haven't heard from them. Already accepted at EVMS, so I'm planning on Virginia unless things change. Frustrating how long it's taken, but I'm sure they have quite a few applications.

I applied in early January and was accepted in mid-February. So excited to FINALLY see some kind of acceptance letter! I'll definitely be doing this program.

Hi,

This is a fairly new program, correct? I am interested in applying, so if anyone can answer my questions, that would be appreciated 😀

It sounds like an SMP. Do you guys know if this is a master's program that medical schools recognize? I know that you are guaranteed an interview at the Stritch School of Medicine, but do other schools consider it competitive and a good program?

Since it is a master's, the courses don't get factored into our undergraduate GPA, but a separate graduate GPA, right?

Thank you in advance.

I submitted my application around Feb. 20th and I'm still waiting to hear back.

I'm a non-trad, have a 3.4 overall GPA, 3.2 science GPA, and 33 MCAT.

Does anyone know how many they are taking this year? I hope I hear back soon! This program is at the top of my list.

I am the program director of the MS in Medical Physiology (MSMP) program at Loyola University Health Sciences Center. Our program was previously called the MSP program but we changed the name to MSMP this year. This is our third year. Our first class had 12students and all but one student was accepted to medical school. Five students were accepted to Stritch School of Medicine. Our second class that graduated last week had 17 students and 7 of them were accepted to medical school during the program with 1 student accepted to Stritch. The remaining 9 students will get interviews at Stritch in the fall of 2013. We are currently accepting application for the 2013 MSMP class. We are shooting for 25-30 students. There are still seats. You can apply online at www.stritch.luc.edu/physio/education/ms. If you have any questions you can email Samantha at: [email protected]
