I just accepted an externship in a few months at Loyola for general surgery. I am a US MD student and this going to be my first externship. Since I love the Chicago area, I've been looking into a lot of Chicago programs and really like what I've read about Loyola.
I was hoping that there may be some people who have rotated through this program, or ideally who are residents AT this program, and could give me some advice as far as how to excel on this rotation.
Also, i booked myself to take my surgical research elective and SICU rotation immediately before going on this externship. Is there anything else i should do to prepare prior to going?
Thanks!
