Any Loyola students out there? What do you think of your school (+s/-s)? Has the Catholic aspect of the school ever seemed oppressive/too much?

I was wondering the exact same thing...until I got rejected (pre-secondary). <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

When I interviewed at Loyola, there were absolutely no third or fourth years around. I'd like to know about their rotation experiences at the hospital were like. I know there are a couple students on here from Loyola, but I haven't seen them post in a while.

I am using my husbands handle - but i attend Loyola Medical school. To answer the second question first, no, the catholic background is definitely not too oppressive. In fact, they celebrate every religion; they make a point not to stress Catholicism. The school is more geared towards the theory of treating more than the disease, but the whole person as well. Our studies for the first two years are basically small-group studies. The testing schedule is rather frequent with a test every 3 weeks - this is the only thing that can get draining. some view this testing schedule as a positive, some a negative. The school was recently rebuilt - everything is brand new. For other perks, the gym there is amazing! as far as the rotations go, they are like any other school really. even though i am a second year, i haven't found much different except that our surgical rotation is 12 weeks long (this is about 4 weeks longer than others). Hope this helps some - good luck!
