Hi all,
I'm a pre-dent and will be entering dental school in Aug. I got accepted to LSU and UT-Houston. At first I was sure I wanted to go to Houston because it just seems better. After I visited both schools, I can't decide anymore. The cost and the facilities are not an issue b/t these 2 schools. I am more interested in the quality of education and clinical training, how well the schools prepare students for boards, and the school effort to make students lives as easy as can be. Can you guys help me decide?

Houston! It's in one of the biggest medical centers around. Great faculty who have been there for a long time. And if you're interested at all in residency, the new school will be ready when you start. I also have a friend who is a first year and he absolutely loves it.

Houston is awesome. I interviewed at 6 different schools around the US (accepted to 5 including Houston) and this school was my number one pick because the students are happy and clinically competent. If I remember right, the assistant dean of admissions told me during the interview that their average for part one was sixth out of the 54 or 56 dental schools. In other words, if you want to specialize down the road, this school is a great place to be👍 .

After being in TX for a year, the saying "everything is bigger and better in Texas" is pretty much stamped in my brain. 😀
