I really liked LSU better, both the city and the school. However, I'm from Arkansas and there will be more Ark students at UT. I'm aspiring to specialize wherever I go (OMFS), and I think it would come in handy to know as many dentists when I return to Little Rock, since a majority of my clientele would come from referrals.
congrats, seriously, dont pick one just because there will be more people from your state. pick which ever better fits you. your lifestyle, values, location, campus...

Thanks needa20! That is exactly how I feel, but its hard to turn down UT because they have been my #1 choice since I became interested in dentistry. I just felt more comfortable at LSU, I guess its hard to explain. BTW, did you ever get that 20 you needed?
Pick wherever you'll be most comfortable and can see yourself enjoying because that's where you'll be spending the next 4 years of your life.
Honestly, it seems like you're already leaning toward LSU. Don't feel obligated to go to a place because that's where you've been intending to go since the get-go. If you have a chance to go to LSU and its a better fit for you, then go for it.
i think you should go to LSU. state-of-the-art facilities, insanely friendly faculty, and fun city. also, it may be worth mentioning (if you are interested in OMFS) that LSU-Shreveport and LSU-New Orleans are considered to be among the top programs in OMFS (so i'm told). if you were really set on OMFS, LSU would be a great place to get exposure. i spoke with a current student there that has been scrubbing in and getting OMFS experience already in his first year.
