The hard work paid off! Got accepted to my top 2 choices... but now what?!?

I am OOS for both, and financially there isn't a huge difference.

To me, these programs felt very similar, and I love both cities: New Orleans and Birmingham. Any thoughts on why one program is better than another?

Both have great patient base, early clinical experience, and research opportunities. LSU-NO is a bit closer to home, but I have had a lot of family attend UAB.

Thanks for your input!

If you have any questions about Birmingham let me know..I've been living here for five years! I went to undergrad in the area and the dental school is amazing! Both LSU and UAB will give you great training.

Well the city of New Orleans over Birmingham is something to consider. Lsu also starts working on patients in the 2nd year. The parking for dent students from the school at Uab is a nice walk. Might be the same for LSU, not sure. I would choose LSU. Uab is a good school as well.

parking for LSU students is maybe a few hundred feet from the door lol

New Orleans is funner than Birmingham obviously but the crime rate is definitely worse as well.

My #1 choice is LSU so obviously my homerism will not help but you should totes go to LSU! lol

What about in terms of pass rates for Board exams?

Also, I am interested in OS... would UAB be the better choice if I want to specialize?
