1. Is it more advisable to get a letter of rec from the Program Director of a residency or the ED chair/ department director? Does it even matter?

2. Would an attending be a worth while letter?

3. Finally, who is it best to have a CORD letter filled out by and are any residencies using this standardized letter, or is any ol' letter of rec acceptable?

1) Either the PD or the Chair would be good choices if they will write you strong LORs

2) Yes, LORs from attendings are useful

3) The CORD letter (also known as the Standardized Letter of Recommendation or SLOR) can only be filled out by EM faculty. You should have at least 2 SLORs when you apply.
