Does anyone know if the Luria-Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery (and/or Screener) is still being used, and (if so) what the general thought about this measure might be within the field?

My take and understanding is that it never really caught on, in part (again, my understanding) because while it built on some of Luria's ideas and evaluation techniques, I don't know that it stayed particularly true to them in the "translation" to becoming a psychometric battery.

I certainly think Lurian theory remains very relevant to the practice of neuropsychology, but there are likely more efficient ways you could spend your time than training on the LNNB.

I am concerned that this is another attorney seeking free legal consult.

There are probably some people who still use it and it might be a decent way to validate specific techniques used therein (e.g., JNDs). It is no longer published, so that's probably a barrier to its use.

I would imagine some of the subscales would still be valid based upon the initial norms. The enormous problem with the LNNB was the attempt to quantify signs and apply psychometric theory to this. And the use of split half reliability as a validity measure.

Thank you all for your feedback. I have a clinical supervisor who still likes the screener but when I googled, I couldn't find it as being something that could even still be purchased. I wondered if I was missing something. Thanks again!
