Hey everyone,
I am having trouble "visualizing" the lymph node anatomy. Specially, I am having trouble "visualizing" the medullary cords and the medullary sinuses. Also, I found some conflicting stuff:

Link 1 disagrees with link 2 in the location of medullary sinuses.

1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6N5KCsZ9fk
2: http://www.med-ars.it/galleries/lymphnodes_8.htm

I am perplexed because link 1 is from a dude (paramedic student) who is definitely lesser authentic than the dude who created link 2 (an MD).

Suggestions?

ok wait, one more thing:
Based on this link:
http://alexandria.healthlibrary.ca/documents/notes/bom/unit_7a/Lec 02_war_lym.xml

Would it be right to conclude the following?

1. For lymph flow,
afferent lymphatic vessel-->subcapsular sinus-->trabecular sinus-->medullary sinus-->efferent lymphatic vessel?

2. Follicles are anatomically continuous with medullary cords?

To me, #2 makes sense functionally as well. Because follicles house B cells. And medullary cords house plasma cells.

Please tell me which of my conclusions # 1 or # 2 are wrong?

I didnt look at your links, but if you understand this than you're fine.
Dont get hung up on the semantics of cords/ sinuses but it is distinguished in the link.
Generally- follicles have mostly B's with few T's, and the paracortex (surrounding follicles) are mostly T's with some dendritic cells, and the sinuses have plasma cells, histiocytes, and exiting lymphoid cells.

I'm annoyed that I learned this a month and a half ago and forgot it.
