I realize there are probably several threads like this, but most of what I find in my search turns up Step I specific threads, where the focus is a little different. We're about to start Pathophys and Pharm, and I have RR Path for that part, but I'm wondering what text might be good to use for the Pharm portion? I've heard decent things about the Katzung/Trevor review, as well as Lippincott's Pharm, and Pharm Recall.

Could someone perhaps explain some pros/cons of each? Thanks, I'm sorry to ask such a "noobish" question.

I just used my class notes, occasionally turning to Katzung to clear things up. I wouldn't go past there... pharm is painful enough as it is without all the extra information.

I also used the Lange flash chards here or there, but they often weren't detailed enough.

Pharm Recall is all you need. The Power Review is worth the price of the book.

theres a stack of cards called PharmNemonics.

i love them.

I just got around to opening Katzung today as I'm the type of person who buys all the textbooks thinking they'll be important but then never gets around to reading them. I'm impressed with how clear and easy to read/understand it is. I think the main reason i hadn't opened it was how intimidatingly large it is, and how hard that makes it to carry around on a regular basis. Lippincott's is good and has some great illustrations, but it's more of a review book than learn-for-the-first-time book, so it depends what you're looking for.
