Yeah, but I want to be an apple geek and own a brand which was started by two guys in a garage thus, demonstrating good ole American ingenuity.

Hewlett Packard was started out of a garage and they make PCs. Dell was started out of a college dorm room. 🙂

My friend installed a Mac OS on my Dell but it took many hours to do... The only thing that doesnt work yet is WIRELESS internet. However all software seems to run really great. I devoted a whole 20gb's to it LOL! Oh by the way, Dell is a good buy.... I have had a desktop for 8 years now and it still runs nicely! As for the laptop, no problems so far🙂 I must say tho that the plastic mouse clicker pads are rather cheap.

Mac all the way! I'd get a new mac at the start of D-school anyway, but I'm pretty sure CU requires that you get a mac, so I guess I don't have a choice. Damn the luck!

Windows, itself, is nothing but a generic imitated Mac OS. I've always owned PCs... but with all the data I've lost on my PC at work to crashes and other system problems... I'm going to make the switch to Mac for school. They're just more dependable.

LOL is that why Windows Server OS is now the dominant OS on servers!! Sorry to hear u have lost imprtant data but if you are running XP then i would say you are at fault b.c it is more stable than OS X ( I have had 2-3 kernel crashes). On XP applications crash but not the OS besides reagrdless of ur OS you have to always backup ur files. I recommend investin in an external hard drive then set it up to make a image of ur HD or atleast ur important files every other day (depends how often u modify or create new files) Bottom line dont think you will not have application or hard drive failures on Mac or any other comp 🙂

i have to agree with chuck noris on this, dell is sheet. UNLV used to have ibm thinkpads for the students. but last year they switched to dell?!?!?! 😱

and on top, they expect the students to buy the latest model (latitude d620 the new DS1 which will run about $1900 after student discounts). i am telling you all, the ds1 are getting shafted at UNLV. I am glad that the DS3 got the best of the worlds.
