made a stupid mistake!

I was checking my account activity online and realized that I actually paid one of my medical schools TWICE (sent in two checks on different dates, and submitted the secondary online).

They cashed both the checks already, do you think there is anything I can do to get half of the money back, or is it a lost cause? I haven't heard anything from them yet in regards to an interview, etc.

Call them and ask whether or not you could get a refund since you did pay the secondary fee already. If they say no, I think you are out of luck.

Of course you can get a refund. This is just an accounting error. If you show them the error I am sure they will gladly refund your money.
